Commercial Manager Posted 08/04/2024 by Melior Associates Quick apply Salary/Rate: £70000 - £100000/annum + competitive package Location: Burgess Hill, West Sussex Excellent Commercial Manager Opportunity in West Sussex with a Tier 1 Civils contractor operating in the civils, water and marine sector near Burgess Hill, West Sussex The Commercial Manager will report to Board Level and will lead all commercial activities within the Commercial and Procurement Departments Responsibilities Ensure the team accurately forecasts costs, identifies and manages change, and drives value for money Establishes an effective team structure and, with the Heads of Department, manages performance, succession, training and development Leadership of the Commercial and Procurement Departments Build, develop & maintain a network of strong relationships with key stakeholders including subcontractors & clients. Ensure adequate review of conditions of contract at bid stage Ensure the commercial aspects of all contracts are managed effectively Ensure that accurate records are kept and retained, including to support claims. Ensure that each subcontractor’s and supplier’s account is managed in accordance with their terms & conditions.. Ensure that payments are effected in accordance with head contract, subcontracts & relevant legislation. Ensure accurate financial and contractual performance forecasts are in place by the required deadlines Monitor cash flow, valuation plan & projected costs to completion in line with budget Manage team performance Requirements of the Commercial Manager Finance Management – CVRs, financial reporting & processes Negotiating Managing people Knowledge of labour costs & employment legislation QHSE legislation A thorough understanding of Contract awareness – NEC3,4, ECC & JCT Detailed knowledge & understanding of tendering & procurement processes Understanding of the certified management systems ISO 9001 -2015, ISO 14001- 2015 & ISO 45001, - 2018 Expereince Required Proven experience in a Managing QS or Commercial Management role Have deep experience within Civil Engineering Construction, ideally within the marine and/or water sector Managing & leading a Commercial team Experience of Dispute Resolution IT Microsoft Office skills, Evision, Business Collaborator, CEMAR Understanding of company computer-based cost recording systems NEC3,4, ECC & JCT full contract awareness Ideal Qualifications Required Preferably HNC or Degree educated Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors membership (RICS) (desirable) On offer is great Commercial manager opportunity with a fantastic company with a very competitive financial package Apply now Type: Permanent Job ID: 221434077 Contract Length: N/A Job Reference: KKComMgr12 View full descriptionHide full description
