Production Manager - Electromechanical Assemblies - Berkshire, UK

A new vacancy for a Production Manager (ELECTROMECHANICAL ASSEMBLIES) with new fast-growing division of leading UK electrical solutions provider. Based at the company's site in Berkshire, the Production Manager will be responsible for heading up a small Manufacturing & Assembly team, with a particular focus on process improvement and "leading from the front". The company has ambitious plans for growth over the next 5yrs, so the job holder must also have the ability to develop the production department and grow his/her team as required.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage, schedule and implement production work on a weekly basis.
  • Ensure that products are produced on time and are of high quality.
  • Provide leadership and direction to the production team, including quarterly reviews, goal setting and professional development.
  • Develop and execute standardised production processes to optimise output with current resources whilst developing and executing a plan for future capacity increase to meeting mid- and long-term business requirements.
  • Ensure health and safety precautions are in place and ensure safety of the production staff
  • Leading role within the organisation and production group for process improvement and achieving department and company goals.
  • Collaborate with sales, engineering, purchasing and other groups to ensure that production resources and materials match client's requirements.
  • Strategically plan and increase the company's productivity, by making optimum use of the available resources.
  • Influence decisions regarding purchase of equipment and machinery for the production unit.
  • Overseeing the repair, maintenance and calibration of all production equipment and ensure that it is completely hazard-free.

Key requirements:

  • Previous experience working within a production management capacity in an ELECTRICAL or PANEL BUILDING industry.
  • Strong leadership skills
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • PC literacy skills
  • Able to work within a fast-paced environment.
