We are supporting recruitment for a Procurement Manager  role which is with a mechanical engineering business based in Southampton.  This is a permanent position working Monday to Thursday 8:30 a.m. to 16:30 p.m. , Friday 8 a.m. to 16:00 pm. salary is negotiable by experience up to circa £40,000 plus benefits.  Ideally you will have procurement/buyer experience of working in petrochemical / pipe work / flanges / pressure vessels or similar industry/products.

Responsibilities:

• Obtain quotations from preferred suppliers and review and measure costs and manage approved suppliers
• Procuring all materials or sub-contract services to meet fabrication projects specifications
• Liaise with internal departments regarding client tender submissions
• Ensure contract services are procured and delivered on time for projects
• Working closely with the quality department to ensure accurate procurement processes and delivered within timescales expected

       Skills and Experience required for the Procurement Manager role:

• Good communication skills, high level of numeracy skills
• Strong administrative, planning and organisational skills
• Experience of working in procurement or a buyer role with relevant industry experience.
