Controls Engineer

Alexander Steele is working exclusively with a global food manufacturing business based in Buckinghamshire. Our client is looking for a forward-thinking Controls Engineer to join the business on a permanent basis. The successful candidate will play an integral part of the engineering team responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining control systems to ensure the efficient and reliable operation of machinery, processes, or systems across the production facility.

Responsibilities:

  • Electrical skills will include a full diagnostic ability in fault finding of all electrical systems up to and including PLC level, with experience using Rockwell/Allan Bradley preferred Siemens experience also relevant.
  • Strong understanding of electrical diagrams is a necessity.
  • Show a continuous improvement mindset, always seeking to improve plant performance and reliability.
  • Fault finding and programming of robotics including Kuka and Fanuc systems desirable.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and implement process improvements that enhance efficiency, safety, and product quality.

Background Experience:

  • Time-served apprenticeship with HNC (or equivalent) desirable
  • City & Guilds 18th edition desirable
  • Preferred experience using Rockwell/Allan Bradley PLC systems.
  • Strong organisational skills and an exceptional attention to detail.
  • Excellent diagnostic and problem-solving skills.
