Jackson Hogg are proud to be supporting a specialist engineering business in the Newcastle area with a Quality Manager appointment.
This position will report directly into the Site Plant Manager and will be responsible for a team of x6 in the Quality Department.
Quality Manager Responsibilities
- Provide leadership for the successful day-to-day quality operations ensuring product is tested, manufactured, and certified as per technical norms and customer requirements.
- Management of the destructive and non-destructive testing activity.
- Management and control of the product and system auditing.
- Management and control of all relevant QMS systems - ISO9001, ISO14001 etc.
- Lead and manage the development of preventative / corrective actions.
- Manage proactively any technical queries with customers providing all necessary guidance.
- Manage activities surrounding reporting on carbon declarations and sustainability.
Quality Manager Requirements
- Self-starting, dynamic, positive, and enthusiastic
- Diligent, articulate with good inter-personal skills
- Willingness to learn new skills with a "can do" attitude
- Ability to problem solve and demonstrate strong organisational skills
- Capacity to manage time and information effectively
- Ability to prioritise, cope under pressure and demonstrate a high-level of initiative
- Good verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to work unaided and maintain relationships with peers, clients, and suppliers · Work productively, efficiently and under tight timescales with meticulous attention to detail
- Evidence of working in a similar position within a heavy manufacturing industry
- Experience with metallurgy would be a significant advantage
