Electronics Test Engineer

£35,000 - £45,000/annum bonus, pension etc

Your Responsibilities


    • Testing PCBs and complete assemblies to specifications.
    • Fault finding to component level.
    • Ensuring instructions and documents are kept up to date and that test results are maintained as required.
    • Ensuring that product is handled and tested in accordance with company policies, including appropriate storage and anti-static precautions.
    • Ensuring product is worked on according to work schedules provided and on time according to defined deadlines.
    • Ensuring that product is recorded correctly on and through the company ERP system (Epicor).
    • Providing yield statistics to the Process Engineering department and offering technical recommendations where appropriate.
    • Implementing new processes and generating instructions and documents in accordance with job requirements, when necessary.
    • Training other employees on techniques and specific methods to ensure a broad level of skill within the department.
    • Making recommendations to the Production Supervisor of any training deficiencies.
    • Communicating any testing issues to the Production Supervisor.

Travel


    • Limited but as required to fulfil business demands.

Your background


    • BTEC ONC/HNC or City & Guilds in electronics.
    • Computer literate.
    • Minimum of 2 years' experience in a similar manufacturing environment.
    • Proven experience in electronic production & assembly.
    • Able to identify electrical component types.
    • Familiar with tools commonly used in electrical and electronic testing, e.g.: Bench power supplies, Multi Meters, Oscilloscopes.
    • Excellent problem solving and trouble shooting skills.
    • Able to read circuit diagrams and fault find to component level.
    • Knowledge of using PIC programming tools and similar devices
    • Able to create/edit technical instructions.
    • Good people skills, team member and builder, with the ability to motivate and empower others.
    • Possess an exceptional work ethic with the ability to work flexibly and prioritize to meet deadlines.
    • Soldering experience would be beneficial.
