Process Control Technician

We have an opportunity for an experienced Process Control Technician to join our client, supporting the efficient operation of the electrical function of the team.

Day to day duties of the Process Control Technician: 

  • Undertake reactive, preventative maintenance and calibration services to a wide range of combustion/instrumentation control systems in a modern steel production facility.
  • Work independently on faults and develop and implement solutions as well as monitor performance, prediction of failures and implement improvements to increase safety, production output and plant reliability.
  • Assist in the efficient planning and running of the process control function through following routine planned maintenance schedules, quality assurance and the coordination of responses to breakdowns.

The Ideal Process Control Technician will have:

  • Hold a recognised Electrical / Process Control apprenticeship (HNC/ONC level or equivalent). 
  • Previous Instrumentation / Control / Electrical experience of industrial systems. 
  • Good level of problem-solving awareness.
  • Ability to read and understand electrical drawings and work with technical data.
  • A good understanding and knowledge of Health Safety Legislation with experience of adhering to SWP’s, risk assessments, procedures, and permit systems.
  • Previous use of a variety of computerised maintenance management systems and other computerised tools which are regularly used in a busy Engineering function.

The Process Control Technician role is a day’s role with some weekend work on a rota basis. 

Salary: £41,079.78 Per Annum.
