On behalf our client and in line with their continued success, we are seeking to recruit an experienced Product Design Engineer.

As a Product Design Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in the development and enhancement of our client's plastic products. Your primary focus will be on designing and optimizing products using plastic injection moulding techniques. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to ensure that designs meet both aesthetic and functional requirements, while also being manufacturable and cost-effective.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and develop new plastic products from concept to production.
  • Optimize existing designs to improve performance, reduce costs, and enhance manufacturability.
  • Create detailed 3D models and engineering drawings using CAD Solidworks software.
  • Conduct feasibility studies and simulations to validate design concepts.
  • Collaborate with the production team to ensure designs are manufacturable using plastic injection moulding processes.
  • Work with suppliers to source materials and components.
  • Perform design reviews and provide technical support throughout the product lifecycle.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant industry standards and regulations


Key Requirements:

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in product design, specifically within the plastic injection moulding industry.
  • Proficient in CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD).
  • Strong understanding of plastic materials, properties, and processing techniques.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and communicate effectively with stakeholders.
  • Knowledge of manufacturing processes and quality control methods
  • An understanding of the mechanical layout of PCBs would be a distinct advantage along with some experience of sheet metal design.
