Position Available: Control System Engineer
This is a hands-on role focused on systems and software development. You will be responsible for technical design and development, ensuring high standards and working with a high degree of independence. The role encompasses all aspects of control system design, from initial requirements identification to delivery, including software development, calibration, and deployment. Familiarity with various parts of vehicle electronic systems, including vehicle architecture, wiring looms, sensors/actuators, and systems integration, is advantageous.

Technical Responsibilities:

  • Design of vehicle-level system architecture
  • High and low voltage, as well as communication systems design
  • Integration design for vehicle electrical systems
  • Conducting safety analysis and implementing design processes
  • Development of real-time embedded control software
  • Designing and implementing test rigs
  • Application testing, calibration, and validation
  • Documenting all steps in the development process

Required Skills:

  • Proficiency in software such as Matlab, Simulink, C/C++, and PC applications (e.g., Visual Studio)
  • Experience in simulation, model development, data generation, and analysis
  • Competence in data logging and analysis
  • Knowledge of vehicle communication systems, including CAN and LIN, and related tools (e.g., PEAK, Vector CANalyzer/CANoe)
  • Strong experience with PC applications like Word, Excel, Visio, Project, etc.

Desirable Skills: (Experience in some or all of the following is beneficial)

  • Vehicle systems architecture design
  • Wiring loom design
  • Safety analysis, including FMEA and HazOP
  • Electronic system testing, calibration, and validation
  • Understanding mechanical, thermal, and other vehicle systems
  • Familiarity with ISO26262
  • Knowledge of automotive quality systems and processes
  • Practical skills: wiring loom building and repair, mechanical knowledge, and hands-on experience

Location: Oxfordshire (near M40 J10)
