PROCESS ENGINEER (METHANOL) – CHEMICAL PROCESS DEVELOPMENT

Company Overview: 

Our client is a Yorkshire based technology and project development company focused on adding value to our generated municipal and industrial solid waste via thermos chemical process. Utilising their own developed technology soon, they plan to recycle millions of tons of waste to valuable fuels and chemicals. Due to the high interest in their solution from the market, we are currently looking for a skilled and highly motivated Process Engineer to join their dedicated team in creation of a global market leader in waste-to-X industry.

Position Overview: 

We are seeking a skilled and highly motivated Process Engineer with a practical experience that could help them to accelerate their waste-to-X development pathway on a global scale. In this role, you will play a pivotal part in designing, optimising, and implementing advanced processes related to syngas processing and methanol synthesis and directly participate in development of a very competitive low-carbon advanced biofuels pathway. Their site is in West Yorkshire and being located within a commutable distance would be welcomed.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and evaluate equipment and systems related to Pressure Swing Adsorption, Methanol synthesis and distillation processes.
  • Management of specific internal technology development projects.
  • Identify areas of improvement and participate in their real-life implementation.
  • Identify and mitigate potential process-related challenges, ensuring safe and compliant operations.
  • Prepare detailed engineering documentation, including process flow diagrams, P&IDs, and equipment specifications.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues on all levels.
  • Stay up to date with the latest advancements in gas separation and methanol synthesis areas to continuously enhance your expertise.

Qualifications:

  • Formal education in Chemical Engineering, Process Engineering, or a related field will be treated as advantage.
  • Knowledge and understanding of engineering/process principles and techniques is essential.
  • Curiosity in new technologies and approaches in relevant areas of expertise is the required mindset.
  • Flexibility, adaptability with a self-motivated drive to succeed are required personal attributes.
  • Hands on approach to work with the ability to react well to change in a fast-paced environment is also necessary.
  • The ability to evaluate, explain and simplify complex technical issues.
  • The ability to operate both at the minutiae and strategic levels.
  • The ability to analyse data used, creation of reports and conclusions following tests. 
  • The ability to feedback and present suggestions and proposals to a wider team.
