Due to an extended period of exponential growth, we are looking for a Mechanical design engineer to join our team and take leadership of significant projects for the business.

 

About The Mechanical Design Engineer Role

You will be responsible developing overseeing design process on major projects and contributing mechanically to design work across the business.

The Mechanical Design Engineer will be responsible for:

  • Create diverse drawings using 2D CAD or 3D Inventor as needed.
  • Apply design for manufacture principles and generate diagrams and Bill of Materials.
  • Manage technical files, collaborate with Project Managers for issue resolution.
  • Identify equipment parts prioritizing approved products when possible.
  • Transmit complete Bill of Materials for project support.
  • Maintain drawings in line with Quality Management System standards.
  • Ensure technical file structures comply with company and ISO Standards.
  • Implement top-notch configuration management practices across products.
  • Maintain technical file structures adhering to company and ISO Standards.
  • Implement industry best practices for configuration management across the product range.
  • Deliver information in a sequence and timeframe aligned with Production needs.
  • Develop skill frameworks and individual training plans for the Draughting team.
  • Provide design assistance to manufacturing, sales, and R&D departments.
  • Undertake other reasonable tasks as requested by Company Management.

A successful Mechanical Design Engineer will need:

  • Mechanical Engineering Apprenticeship, HNC/HND, or BEng/MEng in Engineering.
  • 5+ years' experience in mechanical design or machine supply technical environments.
  • Proficiency in general engineering plant & equipment, material handling industries.
  • Willingness to travel locally and overseas for work.
  • Clean Driving License.
