Business Line Manager Stevenage £Competitive DoE & Package

Progressive Engineering and a Global Engineering Company are currently recruiting for a Business Line Manager on a staff basis for their Engineering & Manufacturing HQ in the Stevenage area, to drive the delivery of the strategic plan for 2025-2026.

Reporting into the UK Managing Director, the Business Line Manager will drive the profitable growth of their market sector & country through market expansion, new product development and managing a business model that is responsive to customer needs.

The Business Line Manager will be responsible for the definition, execution & delivery of Product & Market Business Strategy (Pricing Strategy, Margins, Route to Market, Channel Selection, Competitor Analysis & Market Defence etc), as well the leadership, management, and development of the Product Management Team.

Specifically, the Business Line Manager will:

  • Manage their P & L, with responsibility for driving profitable growth.
  • Be responsible for commercial profitability and business growth, through market expansion and defence in the UK, with accountability for margins for associated products / brands
  • Lead, manage & develop their Product Management Team
  • Define, develop, deliver & own the Product Management Strategy & Strategic Direction, defining the preferred route to market & channel selection.
  • Set & manage the pricing strategy & policy, with accountability for ensuring profitability
  • Develop demand forecasts, as well as formulation of Annual Plans & Data to support the Strategic & Operating plans.
  • New product development & introduction (Commercial, Technical & Marketing)

For the Business Line Manager role, my client is looking a Business Line Manager with the following:

  • Degree in Engineering, Manufacturing or Business-related discipline (Mechanical Engineering; Business Administration, MBA etc)
  • Proven Product Management experience within a Technical Product / Engineered Product / Engineering / Manufactured Product / Assembled Product Environment.
  • Proven People Management experience (Leading, Managing, Mentoring, Coaching, Developing AND Retaining Teams of Product Managers) Prior Product Management experience, with responsibilities including Pricing Strategy, Margins, Route to Market, Channel Selection, Competitor Analysis & Market Defence and Line Management of other Product Managers
  • Experience in preparation, analysis, delivery & execution of both Strategic & Operational Plans
  • Prior experience of managing a P&L, with demonstrable experience of driving growth.
  • Successful track-recording in driving & delivering profitable growth in new / existing markets through Product Management function.
