We are seeking an Operations Manager to join a national market leader in the Building Management Systems industry & Energy Optimisation!

The Role

The role demands an individual with deep expertise in the BMS/energy sectors and district heating systems. The key responsibilities include ensuring that all secured projects meet minimum margin requirements, protecting the safety of all involved, and aligning with business expectations to achieve regional targets. Daily interactions with customers, sub-contractors, and colleagues are essential, requiring a positive attitude, excellent communication, and strong organisational skills.

Working closely with the Regional Director to achieve the District Heating & Energy Centre targets, this position requires effective communication and confident engagement with our clients.

The ideal candidate will:

  • You’ll be working closely with the Regional Director to achieve district energy targets, ensuring effective communication and engagement with clients.
  • Reviewing and managing P&L to ensure accuracy, investigate and correct errors, and ensure timely submission of customer invoices.
  • Resource Forecasting: Anticipate labor needs for projects, service contracts, and reactive calls to ensure appropriate resourcing.
  • Project Management: Take ownership and sales responsibility for multiple projects, varying in size, scope, and value, ensuring delivery to client satisfaction.
  • Health & Safety Compliance: Manage H&S responsibilities by implementing, promoting, and monitoring safe systems of work, including CDM compliance and producing Method Statements and Risk Assessments.
  • Customer Service: Adhere to procedures and processes to deliver high standards of customer service and review service engineer reports for technical content.
  • Team Management: Oversee day-to-day management of the service administration team and small works to agreed values and client satisfaction.
  • Payment and Contracts: Work with finance to secure timely client payments, manage overtime and purchases within responsibility limits, and support quote generation/tender processes.
  • Performance Monitoring: Conduct annual appraisals with direct reports, ensure indirect appraisals are completed, and hold regular performance meetings to lead engineer development plans.
  • Client Relations: Maintain frequent communication with customers to assist with account development and seek new opportunities to add value to the existing client base.
  • Multitasking: Work confidently in a pressurised environment, multitasking between different operational disciplines.

Qualifications

  • Extensive experience in the BMS Industry & the energy sector.
  • Management experience is preferred.

Due to the nature of this role, you must possess a full UK driving licence.
