Installation CAD Engineer

Location: Portsmouth

Salary: £32,000 - £36,000

Overview

We have an exciting opportunity to join a science and technology organisation that operate in the defence industry. The company work across multiple domains including defence (Land, Air, Maritime) Cyber and Intelligence on lots of exciting projects.

You will be developing and designing mainly 2D schematics to assist engineers working to transfer the necessary components, including the de-installation and installation of equipment from one facility to another at the Portsmouth site.

You will be contracted to work at our Portsmouth base however there is potential for hybrid working. You will coordinate with our engineers on-site and create drawing and design packages for them using Computer Aided Design software, enabling them to conduct trials and tests for the Royal Navy.

Main Responsibilities

• Design and create a range of different packages to assist engineers on-site. This may include room layouts, cable data sheets, mechanical schematics, cable routes, wiring diagrams.
• Communicate and work alongside our PMs and systems engineers on a daily basis

Key Skills & Experience

You will need experience creating mainly 2D designs using Computer Aided Design software.

• Competent CAD software user
• Electrical/Mechanical knowledge or competency, desirable
• Experience within Maritime would be advantageous for your development however not essential
