As part of the Engineering Team, you will report directly to the Site Engineering Manager or Managing

Director-Prepared & Salads in their absence. The working hours will be 4 on 4 off 12 hr shifts on a

rotating of 2-day shift and 2-night shift based on your rota located in the maintenance file.

There may be times when you are requested to work additional hours, to provide support and cover for

colleagues during absences, including longer working periods, weekends and bank holidays.

The primary responsibilities of this position are listed below; however the Site Engineering Manager or

any Manager at PDM may request you to fulfil extra duties in line with your job responsibilities.

Primary Responsibilities

We are currently recruiting an Engineering Technician to help develop and implement our planned

preventative maintenance schedule.

This is a completely new role and an exciting opportunity for the right individual to help change PDM's

Maintenance approach Through Total Productive Maintenance (TPM). A system of maintaining and

improving the integrity of production and quality systems through the machines, equipment, process

and employees that add business value. TPM Focuses on keeping all equipment in top working

condition to avoid breakdowns and delays in manufacturing processes. You will be responsible for the

entire PPM process form Asset criticality studies, FMECA's, building / creating tasks and checks through

the CMMS's system, to carrying out the PPM.

You will be working in a dedicated PPM team to service and repair all machinery and equipment, whilst

actively seeking and implementing new improvement methods to increase reliability and improve

efficiencies.

Main Purpose of the Job:

* To observe, recognise and report on machinery or component defects or symptoms of

impending failure and provide CMMS data.

* Carry out Planned and Preventative maintenance to agreed schedules.

* To diagnose faults and to test, repair and maintain Mechanical / Electrical equipment

* Carry out autonomous breakdown tasks and preventative maintenance tasks competently and

correctly, recording work carried out in appropriate documentation / data base (CMMS).

* To interpret and implement technical service instruction data relating to machinery and

equipment.

* Previous experience of working with CMMS systems

* To ensure effective handover of information across shift.

* Contact OEM's and other suppliers for technical support as and when required and expedite

parts when not available on site.

* Lead shift based problem solving where corrective actions aren't clear

* Working as ONE TEAM.

* Identify and implement Improvements.

* Identify life cycle issues and raise these with possible recommendations.

* Use and support simple 5WHY OE techniques / RCA techniques through to 100 year fix.

* Use and support departmental 5s programmes for workshops and stores.

* To use CMMS historical data for improvement initiatives.

* Use the CMMS stores system to accurately record parts taken out.

* Complete all records and paperwork for specific work legibly and accurately (e.g. PPM's,

Quality records, maintenance schedules and return to work forms).

* Ensure Positive release and department sign-off is completed as and when required

* The business may setup additional training away from the site that you may be required to

attend.

* Use of TIMWOODS to identify and Reduce production waste.

* Best practices and Health and Safety requirements whilst being on site.

* Ensure all tools, materials and equipment is returned promptly to their correct locations.

* Ensure hygiene and housekeeping standards are maintained during all working activities.

* Working closely with other departments to maintain a good working and friendly environment.

Health & Safety Responsibilities:

To Highlighting any Health and Safety Concerns immediately to the Health and Safety Manager / Site

Engineering Manager and or Shift Manager / Supervisor at the time of issue

To comply to Health and Safety regulations and making sure you adhered to and are followed by you

and other members of staff.

To be responsible for your own safety and do not jeopardise the health and safety of others.

To follow safe working procedures and safety rules.

To follow the correct procedure if accidents occur.

Do not interfere with things provided for your safety.

To co-operate with managers in maintaining a safe place of work.

To ensure suitable personal protective equipment is worn where appropriate
