Business Development Manager - £75,000 pa (basic + commission) + bonus + car allowance + company benefits

Location: Home based, ideally based in the Midlands or across the North of the UK, will be required to travel on a regular basis

Due to business growth, we are seeking a Business Development Manager to join our industry leading business. We manufacture bespoke products for our customers across various industry sectors including Automotive, Aerospace, Logistics, Retail, Medical, and across the wider manufacturing sector.

Business Development Manager Skills & Requirements:

  • A background of successfully selling and developing business within the Material Handling, Conveyors, Distribution, Retail sectors is essential, we would also consider candidates from a wider range of industries (Automotive, Warehouse Automation, General Engineering & Manufacturing).
  • Experienced at identifying new opportunities and nurturing key client relationships.
  • The successful candidate will lead a team of technical sales engineers, demonstrating expertise in understanding manufacturing processes across diverse industries and implementing lean manufacturing principles in solution designs.
  • Exceptional sales acumen, coupled with the ability to develop existing clientele while securing new business, is paramount.
  • As the Business Development Manager, you will collaborate with the team to devise optimal solutions for clients.
  • Cultivate existing client relationships and secure new business opportunities
  • Proactively seek potential clients and evaluate target customers using CRM systems and market insights.
  • Forge and nurture relationships with new clients, managing your own schedule and travel plans predominantly across the Midlands & North of England.
  • Identify new markets for current and emerging solutions, conducting joint visits with field sales teams, and facilitating meetings with client decision-makers.
  • Participate in pricing strategies and handle objections effectively, leveraging market knowledge to refine the company's unique selling propositions.
  • Present new products and services, liaising with internal teams to meet customer requirements and ensuring client satisfaction through debriefs and follow-ups.
  • Proficiency in Continuous Improvement, Lean manufacturing, Kaizen etc.
  • Strong CRM system and PC literacy essential for effective client management.
