Powertrain Test Technician

• Up to £38.000 + profit share
• Weekly - alternating - Early/ Late shift (7am-3pm & 3pm-11pm)

We are working with an established world leading Company, in automotive emissions measurement and control systems providing support to the EV development industry, based in Cambridge, UK. 

They are recruiting for a Powertrain Test Technician to join their team. In return for a salary up to £38.000 along with excellent employment benefits.

Their Engineering Services Groups work on a consultancy basis for vehicle and component manufacturers.

• They have comprehensive state-of-the-art powertrain and vehicle testing facilities.
• They evaluate and develop powertrain control solutions for future vehicles.

Due to recent and planned future expansion, Engineering Services Groups are now recruiting Engineers and Technicians to join the team. 

The role will involve working in their powertrain and vehicle test facilities, on a variety of powertrain-related projects.

The role is varied, based on the specific requirements of the test programme.

Key Responsibilities could include:

• Set-up and installation of test powertrains and vehicles
• Operation of powertrain and vehicle test facilities
• Fabrication and instrumentation of test parts
• Maintenance of a range of powertrain and vehicle test facilities

We would welcome applications from:

• Experienced Powertrain Test Technicians
• Existing engineering technicians with transferable skills and with an interest and enthusiasm for the role.

Requirements:

• Automotive maintenance, ideally including high voltage systems
• TIG welding
• Sheet metal fabrication
• Use of machine tools & hand tools
• Electrical / electronics testing/ fabrication
• Computer literacy –particularly Microsoft Excel

Flexibility to work on a weekly-alternating early/ late shift basis (7am - 3pm & 3pm - 11pm).
