We are urgently looking for experienced Mechanical , Electrical or Comms biased Project Engineers who have worked on UK Highways projects .

As a Project Engineer you would joining an established Infrastructure Contractor that delivers Capital Projects for the Highways Agency .

Based out of an office in Sevenoaks and on project sites as a Project Engineer your responsibilities would include but not be limited to the following :

  • Ensuring that the project requirements, specifications, design drawings, health and safety proposals are all read, understood and agreed and that a project program is in place.
  • Prepare of Health and Safety Plans, Quality Plans and Method Statements.
  • Produce a labour schedule in conjunction with the PM.
  • Prepare schedules of works, and update project programs.
  • Supervise and manage all site-based operations, overseeing all aspects of work.
  • Check that all materials used, including those used by sub-contractors, are compliant with technical and quality specifications.
  • Supervise and check quality, maintaining a snagging list and ensure all snags are closed out in a timely manner.
  • Control of weekly progress against program and supporting budget.
  • Interface with external clients
  • Monitor project budgets and record potential variations to contract.

Projects will include M&E, Lighting and Comms packages and will be predominately on the countries Motorway network including the M25, M4, M5, M11 & other major arteries.

The successful candidate will have an at least:

  • Have a Electrical, Mechanical or Comms Qualification
  • Experience of setting up Construction/ Installations sites within the UK Highways environment
  • Experience of programming packages of works
  • Experience of preparing and Reviewing RAMS
  • Experience of managing site teams
  • Experience of dealing with client representatives
  • Experience of monitoring project budgets  
  • Self-driven and results-oriented individual with a positive outlook
  • Strong IT skills and ability to use Microsoft packages with good report writing skills.
