Project Engineer-Highways

We are urgently looking for experienced Mechanical , Electrical or Comms biased Project Engineers who have worked on UK Highways projects .
As a Project Engineer you would joining an established Infrastructure Contractor that delivers Capital Projects for the Highways Agency .
Based out of an office in Sevenoaks and on project sites as a Project Engineer your responsibilities would include but not be limited to the following :
- Ensuring that the project requirements, specifications, design drawings, health and safety proposals are all read, understood and agreed and that a project program is in place.
- Prepare of Health and Safety Plans, Quality Plans and Method Statements.
- Produce a labour schedule in conjunction with the PM.
- Prepare schedules of works, and update project programs.
- Supervise and manage all site-based operations, overseeing all aspects of work.
- Check that all materials used, including those used by sub-contractors, are compliant with technical and quality specifications.
- Supervise and check quality, maintaining a snagging list and ensure all snags are closed out in a timely manner.
- Control of weekly progress against program and supporting budget.
- Interface with external clients
- Monitor project budgets and record potential variations to contract.
Projects will include M&E, Lighting and Comms packages and will be predominately on the countries Motorway network including the M25, M4, M5, M11 & other major arteries.
The successful candidate will have an at least:
- Have a Electrical, Mechanical or Comms Qualification
- Experience of setting up Construction/ Installations sites within the UK Highways environment
- Experience of programming packages of works
- Experience of preparing and Reviewing RAMS
- Experience of managing site teams
- Experience of dealing with client representatives
- Experience of monitoring project budgets
- Self-driven and results-oriented individual with a positive outlook
- Strong IT skills and ability to use Microsoft packages with good report writing skills.
