Electrical Mechanical Fitter - Rolling Stock

Rullion are seeking a confident electrical dual-skilled fitter for an ongoing contract opportunity with a leading rail company located in the northwestern region.

Please note that Rolling Stock experience is not essential. Criteria for the role is listed below for suitability.

As part of the maintenance team dedicated to the Class 390 Avanti High-Speed locomotive fleet, you will be based at Liverpool Train Care Centre, playing a pivotal role in ensuring the efficiency and safety of our trains.

**Shift Pattern:**

Permanent Nights (4 nights on, 4 nights off)

**Duration:**

Ongoing contract, initially for 6 months.

**Rates:**

- First 12 weeks:

- PAYE: £23.37 per hour

- Umbrella: £29.32 per hour

- Post 12 weeks:

- PAYE: £26.53 per hour

- Umbrella: £35.15 per hour

This position falls under IR35 regulations and therefore we cannot engage with Limited companies for this role.

**Background Requirements:**

While prior experience in Rolling Stock is preferred, it is not mandatory. However a background in Aerospace, Armed Forces Engineering, HGV/Buses or operating large vehicles is essential.

**Qualifications:**

Candidates must hold a minimum of an NVQ Level 3 in Engineering (or equivalent recognised qualification) Electrical Engineering qualification is preferred, however a general engineering qualification with electrical principles/modules will be considered.

Suitable candidates will be invited to attend a mechanical and electrical (practical/theory) trade test. No interview required.

**Job Description:**

Under the supervision of the Production Manager, your duties will involve servicing, maintaining, and repairing the Class 390 Avanti High-Speed Trains Fleet. As an essential team member, you'll ensure that traction and rolling stock receive top-notch service and maintenance in a safe, efficient, and cost-effective manner, with a continuous focus on quality improvement.

Please note that our client maintains a strict zero-tolerance Drug and Alcohol Policy. Expect a Drugs and Alcohol test, which may take place following a trade test or on your first day of employment.
