A key element to the role will be the understanding and managing of the design process from inception to construction of new flood alleviation, surface water management /flood alleviation projects, drainage strategies and producing and checking Flood Risk Assessments.

The role:
- Help support the group's hydraulic modelling capability.
- Work on a range of domestic and international engineering projects, from a building scale to regional analysis.
- Interpreting modelling results.
- Problem solving to develop practical engineering solutions.
- Coordinating work with other members of the project team both internally and externally.
What you need to succeed:
- Flood mitigation design from concept through to detailed design including the options assessment for private and public sector clients.
- Drainage strategies for new developments.
- Mentor and lead a team of Junior modellers ; and
- A thorough knowledge of Flood Modeller/ISIS-TUFLOW river modelling software together with InfoWorks ICM and MAP-Info and or QGIS is essential. The design of sewers using WINDES (or similar software packages) together with experience in applying Sewers for Adoption/Design and Construction Guidance.
- Managing river modelling and hydrological analysis to support the design:
- Drainage design andFlood Risk Assessments.
- Preferred Competencies/Modelling and GIS Skills Essential
