The Opportunity

The position of NPI - Manufacturing Engineer provides support to the NPI/Manufacturing Director to enable the handover of a quality product to the Manufacturing team, considering Design for Manufacture, Test and Serviceability within Infinitesima. 

To provide Quality Documentation to the Operations and Service teams for all new products.

The role would suit a highly skilled Technician who is looking for the next step on there Career.

 

Responsibilities and Duties

To manage and plan the introduction of new products from R&D/Engineering to production to meet agreed quality targets and product specifications, identifying constraints in resource and equipment, feeding it back into the programme/project for alignment.

To fully understand and document the build of the System to enable a clean handover to Manufacturing in the UK.

Support The NPI/Manufacturing Manager in supplying Quality documentation to enable the build of all products within Operations.

Support The Change Process once Product is released to Manufacturing 

Review and implement Opportunities for Continuous Improvement.

Produce well documented build notes and test procedures as required.

Lead prototype & post-production build reviews.

Good understanding of IPC standards for wiring

Experience in the use of a mechanical design system i.e Solidworks

Work closely with design teams (electronic and mechanical) to ensure smooth and optimised new product introduction (NPI) into manufacturing and production readiness for prototype and production builds.

Identification and development of specialised equipment and tooling to improve Production efficiencies and quality.

Provide guidance on different approaches to development and delivery of solutions/systems that could yield better results.

Work autonomously within established procedures and practices.

 

Qualifications Essential 

An educational qualification (eg. HND or degree) in a relevant discipline (Electromechanical assembly) 

Experience of building and testing complex high technology products 

Experience of wiring/soldering to IPC standards 

Experience of working with engineering development and release into a product (ie Product   Life Cycle) 

Experience in the use of a mechanical CAD software (ie Solidworks)

Over 7 years practical experience in a manufacturing technician role 

Excellent communication skills. 

Fluency in written and oral technical English

 

Desirable

• Experience in Document control

• Experience in Product Certification (CE,FCC etc )

• Good understanding of ECR/ECO control systems and Processes.

• Some Project Management experience.

• Willing to travel if required

 Personality

An individual with a good level of all round Design and Assembly processes, a high degree of manual dexterity and a high level of Technical ability. Be able to think on their feet when required.
