This role presents a unique chance to become a part of a dedicated team within a well-established company.

Job Description:

• A basic week, which is rare, would be 40 hours with start times varying to suit the needs of customers and projects. Normal start would be 8am but could be as early as 4am and if required could be any time during the day or evening.

• We off our customers a 24/7 service and are called back to work and site during the month on various occasions and hence we would need total flexibility from potential employees, saying that on average we are called out during a month from once to the worst I can remember over a dozen times in various times including weekends.

• We cannot guarantee weekend work but if we look back then during the last ten years or more we generally work Saturdays, from history at least 95% of Saturdays, with hours ranging from 6hrs to 16+hours and during a month we have at least some of our team working Sundays again varying from 4hrs to 16+hrs

• Place of work will vary from day to day and during any day, our factory is based in Tredegar but we can be expected to visit and work with our customers sites in various parts of Wales/The West Country and many other parts of the UK as required, occasionally we will expect our team to spend nights away on work related or training requirements.

• We are a small business and therefore the requirements for all our team to have a flexible approach to the business is essential with the ability to be compatible with other team members.

MECHANICAL FITTER OUTLINE

To have experience within the general mechanical fitting both at place of work and customers premises

• We would look for a trained person within a minimum qualification in most cases of an NVQ3 in mechanical fitting

• Some experience in basic welding work

• Some ability if required to operate machinery such as, lathes, milling, drilling, brake press, guillotine and drilling etc.

• Full clean driving licence

• Experience of working in food and pharmaceutical industries a plus

• Experience with and knowledge of conveyor systems

• Fork truck and IPAF licence and advantage or the willingness to be trained in these operations

• Willingness to work at height as part of our operation this could be either in scaffolding, ladders and powered machines such as cherry pickers or scissor lifts etc

• Willingness to train as confined space operative (this work we carry out but if candidates meet other requirements then this could be considered at that time)
