Role Overview: We are currently seeking a Senior Quantity Surveyor to join our structures division based in London. Key Responsibilities: As a Senior Quantity Surveyor, you will:

  • Provide commercial information and guidance to the contract team, actively managing each contract.
  • Assess and agree upon the cost and value of work done monthly, including variations and projected final costs, reporting at contract meetings.
  • Issue valuations, applications, invoices, progress certificates, and payments as required by contracts.
  • Ensure procurement is conducted within budget and according to the procurement program.
  • Determine amounts due to subcontractors and suppliers, including final accounts, serving necessary notices, and issuing documents for payment.
  • Prepare claims for value/time as necessary, issue relevant notices, and negotiate and agree on final accounts.

Additional Responsibilities: You will also:

  • Offer cost advice to the Quantity Surveyor as needed to support budget provision.
  • Provide advice and information on contractual/commercial matters during the pre-construction stage as required by the tender team.
  • Maintain, update, and prepare contract records for archiving in accordance with company Quality and Management Systems.
  • Provide on-the-job training and development to allocated staff as agreed with the Managing Surveyor.
  • Optimize cash balances by minimizing undervalues and maximizing positive cash flow situations.

Performance Measurement: Your performance will be assessed based on:

  • Achievement of the contract target margin improvement.
  • Timely production of accurate cost, value, and budget information.
  • Maximization of monthly valuation for optimal recovery.
  • Conducting negotiations with clients, subcontractors, and suppliers representatives to avoid disputes and ensure speedy resolutions to any disputes that arise.
