CNC Production Engineer

Due to Growth our client, based on the outskirts of South Derbyshire, is looking to add a Production Engineer to their growing engineering team. This company has invested Millions of pounds into a state of the art facility with a vast range of complex and up to date machinery. The successful candidate will be the subject matter expert on key processes and systems throughout the precision manufacturing environment and will improve these through their knowledge of best CNC Machining practices and rigorous application of continuous improvement techniques ensuring the involvement of the whole team.

CNC Production Engineer

  • Identify and initiate process improvements in conjunction with the Production Management team
  • Develops, maintains, and ensures compliance with process control plans, quality assurance plans, and procedures
  • Assist in resolution of manufacturing issues and gives feedback for improvements in manufacturability
  • Measures performance to targets and implements remedial actions as instructed
  • To Plan and conduct activities related to the development of new processes including researching current and emerging technologies, evaluating process cost, quality, and capability alternatives, and performing process characterization and optimization using problem solving and decision-making tools
  • Facilitates technology transfer from process development to manufacturing processes for new product introductions, lead and coordinate all activities for modifications of existing processes, prepare process development protocols and coordinate all activities related to their execution, whilst practicing good project management & cost control
  • Plans and conducts activities related to the development of new processes including researching current and emerging technologies, evaluating process cost, quality, and capability alternatives, and performing process
  • Strong knowledge and skills in the use of process development tools is preferred
  • Experience with Six Sigma/Process Excellence Tools/Lean Manufacturing and Methodologies
  • Motivated to work on own initiative with results-oriented attitude
  • Knowledge of CNC controlled equipment and machine code/programming whilst not essential would be an advantage along with strong equipment fault-finding, troubleshooting capability
  • Managing implementation of projects, technology transfer and manufacturing support systems
  • Self-motivated striving to find lean solutions to improvements and issues
  • Has experience of conduct validation and process transfers for equipment, from conception through to Implementation

CNC Production Engineer

  • Days Monday to Friday 7am-4pm, Friday early finish at 12pm Midday (38 hour week)
  • 34 days holiday
