Electrical Engineer - 12-month CONTRACT - Isleworth,London

VGC Energy, part of VGC Group Ltd are pleased to be recruiting for an Electrical Engineer in the Greater London area.

This role is site based and is initially for 12 months, with the possibility of extension following review. 

Fulltime hours of 45 per week. 

£300-£341/day (inside IR35).

Electrical Engineer - Responsibilities

To supervise / manage the operational resources (people, and physical assets) in order to implement the plan for the assigned project safely, on time and to the required quality while maximising customers' satisfaction and the gross profit.

To implement all policies including those for SHE and risk management. To promote the company’s values towards its customers, in order to meet or exceed their expectations and fulfil the vision of becoming the most highly respected company in the industry.

Electrical Engineer - Key Tasks and Accountabilities

  • Providing electrical engineering expertise for industrial projects with particular emphasis on the water recycling industry.
  • Establishing client requirements and delivering the operation of engineering design solutions.
  • Engaging with the Supply Chain and support the contractor delivery and commissioning process.
  • Providing support to contractors within the electrical discipline as well as ensuring company standards in health & safety, environmental and quality are being met by the supply chain.
  • Cooperate and coordinate with all stakeholders including the client-side, internal and supply chain to ensure the project outcomes are achieved. This would include organising shut down methodology agreed in a timely fashion.
  • Support the implementation and monitoring of Business Assurance Systems (BAS) policies and procedures.
  • Support with work relating to financial forecasts and reviews with Commercial Team. 
  • Implement and monitor day-to-day activities (Short Interval Control), in line with main programme
  • Management and monitoring of Sub-Contractor performance and delivery.
  • Manage DALUX (Quality Handover Portal) to ensure documents mirror what has been delivered on site and are line with the Contract Requirements.

Electrical Engineer - Skills, Experience and Knowledge

Must have:

  • Experience of carrying out Authorised Person duties previously or currently and being trained in the duties.
  • A good knowledge of motor control centres including variable speed 690V and 420V.
  • A good knowledge of control and instrumentation cable installation
  • Experience of process impact during construction and the assessment of the impact.
  • The ability to read electrical designs and ensure installations meet approved designs and identify when they don’t.
  • Good interpersonal skills and able to work as part of a multi-discipline team. Versatile, reliable and resourceful.
  • The ability to work in complex organisations in a team environment and develop relationships and rapport with external clients and internal colleagues.
  • The ability to take full responsibility for producing, checking and completing inspection and test procedures.
  • Management skills (control and management of employees).
  • A minimum City & Guilds NVQ Level 3 qualified.
  • Fully qualified electrician.
  • ECS (JIB) Gold Card holder.
  • Sound knowledge of computer web-based portals.
  • Experience in supervising electrical installation on capital projects with a minimum 4 day qualification in safety (such as IOSH, SSSTS or SMSTS).
  • CSCS and/or CPCS Card.

Electrical Engineer - Desirable

  • First Aid and Mental Health First Aid.
  • Confined Space Training.
  • DSEAR Training and good knowledge of electrical installation in ATEX hazardous areas.
  • Previous experience within the Sewage Treatment sector would be desirable.
  • Ideally Experience of having worked within a contracting organisation.
