Contract CAD Engineer

Duration:         6-month contract

Outside IR35

Immediate start available

Contract opportunity for a CAD Engineer / Mechanical Engineer to work with the R&D/ Engineering team on a key new project, supporting a next generation mechanical product.

As Mechanical Engineer / CAD Engineer you will use your SolidWorks (or related 3D CAD) skills to Interpret CAD drawings and create a manufacturing build manual and work instructions using databases in Excel.

As such, you will need a working knowledge of CAD software, proven MS Excel and problem-solving skills.

To support the project, you will need to:

  • Be able to understand and interpret engineering drawings using SolidWorks (or similar) 3D CAD software.
  • Work with multi-disciplined teams to understand /collate requirements and ensure the spreadsheets you create are accurate and easy to use.
  • Read detailed engineering drawings / models for manufacturing and assembly.
  • Create easy to understand, accurate manufacturing / assembly processes documents.

Skill required as CAD Engineer:

  • Industry experience as a Mechanical Engineer / CAD Engineer, Draftsperson or Manufacturing Engineer or similar engineering role
  • MS Excel – intermediate to advanced skills
  • Proficiency in CAD, ideally SolidWorks (although other packages considered)
  • Have an understanding of Engineering system design principles.
