Working for one of the largest social housing providers offering the opportunity to take on a Gas Engineer on a permanent basis to cover Oxford and surrounding areas.
About the role & area
- Working within a 50 mile radius of Oxford
- Servicing and repair duties for domestic boilers, heating systems, unvented cylinders and control systems within domestic properties.
- Carrying out servicing, testing, repairs and minor installations
- Mainly working on social housing, occupied and void properties
- Experience with fault finding on modern condensing boilers.
- Diagnosing faults and rectifying in a prompt and appropriate manner.
- Conducting safe and proper use of all mechanical and non-mechanical plant and equipment under their direct control.
- Undertaking a range of service and maintenance works, repairing or replacing items to maintain properties to a high standard, including producing gas safety certificates, in line with the role skills framework.
- Complete works in conjunction with all health and safety procedures, policies and legislation.
- Working unsupervised and in occupied or unoccupied (void) properties and complying with the Code of Conduct.
- Competent in the completion of reports, ordering materials and completing orders.
Essential Qualifications
- ACS core accreditation in domestic Gas with cookers and fires.
- Gas Safe Registered.
- City & Guilds, NVQ level 3 or similar
- ACS including CCN1 CEN1 WAT1
- HTR1 CKR1 CPA1
- UVHW
Desirable Qualifications
- LPG, Commercial
- Plumbing NVQ
- Solar thermal
- MET1
- ASHP
Working Hours & Call outs
Working hours - Full Time (39 hours per week)
Participate in an out of hours emergency rota and attend call-outs as required.
Call outs during the Summer are 1 in 8 weeks
Call outs during the Winter are 1 in 4 weeks
Call outs are paid at £320 at a time
Time and a half paid
Full driving licence and able to travel between sites.
Flexible approach to working hours and undertake call-outs as part of out of hours rota.

Salary & Benefits
£38,000-£48,000 per annum - depending on skills and experience
