Our client, a leading automotive manufacturing company that specializes in producing high performance vehicles is currently looking for a HIL Test Engineer. The successful candidate will play a critical role in validating and verifying the functionality and performance of our advanced automotive systems through rigorous testing methodologies.
 
The HIL Test Engineer will:
  • Design, develop, and maintain Hardware-in-the-Loop (HIL) and model-in-loop (MIL) test systems for automotive electronic control units (ECUs) and embedded systems.
  • Identify and troubleshoot issues encountered during testing, collaborating with cross-functional teams to resolve technical challenges promptly.
  • Execute HIL tests to validate software and hardware functionality, performance, and safety across various operating conditions.
  • Create physical models, then detailed test cases and procedures based on system requirements and design specifications to ensure comprehensive test coverage.
  • Analyse test results and generate comprehensive reports to document test findings, identify anomalies, and provide recommendations for improvement.
 
The HIL Test Engineer will have:
  • Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, Computer Engineering, or related field. Master's degree preferred.
  • Proven experience in developing and executing HIL & MIL tests for automotive ECUs and embedded systems.
  • Experience with model-based design and simulation tools (e.g., Simulink, dSPACE ControlDesk).
  • Strong programming skills in languages such as C/C++, Python, or MATLAB/Simulink.
  • Proficiency in HIL testing tools and platforms (e.g., dSPACE, National Instruments, Speedgoat).
  • Solid understanding of automotive communication protocols (e.g., CAN, LIN, FlexRay).
