What does the role look like?

Join Collins Aerospace in Wolverhampton as a Subcontract Buyer, where you'll efficiently coordinate repair operations, update the Demand Management Board, and manage Subcon Purchase Orders. You'll liaise with Customer Service Representatives and Programme Managers to meet customer needs and ensure timely unit reintroduction. Additionally, you'll collaborate with the quality team and manage supplier order books. Join us to excel in subcontract procurement and management.

What will your day-to-day responsibilities look like?

  • Efficiently coordinates inbound and outbound sub-contract repair operations for the business.
  • Collaborates with planners to ensure accurate updates in the Demand Management Board (DMB) and maintains product tracking.
  • Initiates and processes Subcon Purchase Orders, dispatching them to suppliers for repair tasks.
  • Communicates internally with Customer Service Representatives (CSRs) to ensure fulfillment of customer requirements.
  • Works closely with Programme Managers to facilitate the timely reintroduction of planned inbound units.
  • Coordinates with the quality team to address any potential quality or documentation issues that may arise during the process.
  • Manages order books with suppliers, ensuring smooth and organized transactions.

  • Procurement Expertise: Mastery of procurement processes, including sourcing, negotiation, and contract management.
  • Communication Skills: Strong ability to communicate effectively with internal teams and external suppliers.
  • Organizational Skills: Capacity to manage multiple tasks, prioritize workloads, and meet deadlines efficiently.

Desirable skills:

  • Analytical Skills: Ability to analyze data and trends to make informed procurement decisions.
  • Project Management Skills: Experience in project management methodologies to coordinate complex procurement projects.
  • Supply Chain Knowledge: Understanding supply chain principles and logistics to optimize processes.
  • Experience with ERP Systems: Familiarity with Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems to streamline operations.
  • Continuous Improvement Mindset: Proactive in seeking opportunities for process improvements and implementing best practices.
  • Cross-Cultural Competence: Ability to work effectively with suppliers from diverse cultural backgrounds.
  • Financial Acumen: Understanding financial metrics, cost analysis, and budget management for strategic decision-making.
