We are recruiting for 1x Lead Systems Engineer and 3x Senior Systems Engineers or Systems Engineers to form a team support a major nuclear project on a 12 month contract inside IR35. The client is ideally looking for the engineers to start on 20th May and as such they require the team to hold live SC or DV Clearances.

The client is offering a signifcant amount of remote working 4 days per week with 1 day per week in one of their offices (Warrington, Leicester, Newbury or Bristol). There may be intermittent visits to other client sites although these won’t be regular and will be expensed by the client.

The work is focused around a Standardisation Initiative (SI) which was launched in response to mitigate a significant identified risk; to offer a reduction of design activities within work packages with the potential for schedule assurance and cost avoidance throughout the product lifecycle. As a result, they are looking for assertive and capable Systems Engineers who can interface with various internal and external stakeholders to progress this initiative.

The role will involve:

  • Creating and maintaining a database in DOORS to monitor and document standardisation opportunities across project lifetime. This will be the single source of truth for reporting and key performance indicators for the SI.
  • Progressing opportunities through the review and approval process. Where necessary, determine the approach for implementing approved opportunities; by producing plans, process, operating models, and guidance instructions.
  • Acting as technology area coordinators by chairing working groups, writing update reports, and monitoring for new opportunities to standardise design, and assisting in the resolution of issues between projects.
  • Liaising with Continuous Improvement team to present opportunities 
  • Writing a summary report that will supplement the opportunity database which provides information on standardisation LFE for future projects.
