Hello,

My client is engaged in the design, development, manufacture and test of niche products for the aerospace and defence industries. They are currently in need of an Electrical/ Electronic Engineer to join their team in Southend.

ROLE: To be responsible for system architecture and behaviour of electrical/electronic sub-systems and the integration into a range of Company products.

DUTIES:

  • To provide system integration and electrical/electronic and guidance to Senior Design staff during the initial design of a range of products (typically, on matters affecting system electrical architecture, software design and operation, design for EMC, wiring schematics and safety related issues),
  • To support capture of customer software and system requirements for GAINS and seating products,
  • Translate customer requirements into system and software product requirements,
  • To prepare test procedures, reports and other appropriate documentation associated with product verification, validation and qualification,
  • Participation in verification and qualification test activities, liaising with others as required,
  • Support software validation testing for GAINS, to verify that equipment function corresponds to its detailed functional requirements,
  • Prepare new electrical drawings and drawing modifications on appropriate programmes,
  • To manage system requirements, open issues etc. through appropriate tools,
  • To support, as required, meetings with suppliers, customers and airworthiness authorities,
  • Responsible for ensuring that a high standard of housekeeping is maintained,
  •  To support team members with other tasks as and when necessary,
  • To help create and maintain a safe working environment and observe the published Health and Safety procedures,
  • To carry out any tasks where reasonable and relevant, when required.

SKILLS:

  • HNC/HND Electrical, Systems and/or Electronic Engineering
  • Electrical, Systems and/or Electronic Engineer Degree or equivalent (DESIRABLE)#
  • Electrical and software systems design or test engineering experience (Aerospace/Motor vehicle)
  • Experience of aircraft or defence electronics industry
  • Leading of small engineering teams, planning and management projects
  • Experience of qualification and certification of aircraft products
  • Experience in Electrical Power testing related to three phase aircraft electrical systems
  • Knowledge of design for EMC
  • Detail design of digital and analogue Electrical/Electronic systems
  • Knowledge of C or C++ programming
  • Knowledge of aircraft electrical regulatory requirements
  • Experience of design, testing or qualification of aircraft Galley products
  • Experience of sub-system software requirements
  • Experience in testing embedded systems and software
  • Experience using LabVIEW
  • Proficient in MS Office suite of applications
  • Ability to work independently while collaborating in a team environment

LOCATION: SOUTHEND-ON-SEA

SALARY: £40,000 PER ANNUM
