The Opportunity
Due to the recent award of a large new project in the Northwest, our client a modern multi-discipline engineering consultancy are currently seeking an experienced Electrical Engineer to join their diverse team of chemical specialists. They have an ambition to help lead the way in introducing a low carbon, sustainable engineering sector.

The role
Reporting to the Projects Engineering Manager/Lead EC&I engineer, you will liaise closely with multiple engineering disciplines, designers and draughts persons within the projects group in delivering assigned tasks.

Rate = £50-55/Hr LTD

Your duties and responsibilities will be
  • Creation of project documentation (specifications, schedules, calculations, inspection and test plans).
  • Technical input when checking documents, schedules, or drawings etc.
  • Producing & Checking test documents, equipment procedure & technical assessments.
  • Assist the EC&I Lead with project deliverables and take ownership of assigned activities.
  • Proactive stakeholder engagement, developing and maintaining strong, positive business relationships.
  • Company Wide Aspects.
  • Align with and promote Company Values and Vision.
  • Work closely with other engineering and construction teams to ensure projects are delivered on time and within budget.
You will have the following qualifications & experience
  • Ideally educated to a degree level, with a minimum of degree in Electrical Engineering.
  • Have experience working for petrochemicals, Chemicals, or renewable energy industries.
  • Have experience of working in a design and engineering environment across electrical discipline.
  • Experience of co-working with control and instrumentation engineers/designers.
  • Knowledge of EPC / EPCM working structure.
  • Ability to Develop Scopes of Work, Method Statements, Schedules, Single Line Diagrams, Block Cable Diagrams, Risk Assessments, Technical Files.
  • Experience in the use of AMTECH or ETAP engineering and design software is beneficial.
  • Experience using 2D AutoCAD package beneficial.
  • Understanding of DSEAR/ATEX, hazardous area classification equipment/design.
  • Able to perform accurate design calculations and complete cost estimates.
It’s great if you also have the following
  • Knowledge of LV distribution, switchgear, Transformers, panel build/design.
  • Knowledge of working with 3Ph Motors, Drives and MCC panels.
  • Knowledge of High Voltage design, distribution, engineering (Typically 11 kV but also some 33 kV interfaces).
  • Working knowledge of BS7671, Electricity at work regulation.
  • An ability to think strategically and understanding the implication of changes to contract scope.
  • An ability to work collaboratively with all engineering design and construction disciplines.
  • Understanding of Designer and Principal Designer Roles under CDM.
