  • Requirements and interface management
  • System Design Descriptions
  • Piping & Instrumentation Diagrams
  • A functional Bill of Materials
  • Fluid flow and Process Equipment sizing calculations.

You will be expected to Manage and implement a systems engineering approach to Reactor Systems design through implementation of key internal processes, and challenge processes to drive improvement where required

This role will ideally suit an individual with a strong academic background in in Nuclear Engineering or Nuclear Reactor Physics (or possessing equivalent, relevant work experience).

The role will be based in Derby, Warrington and Manchester, though most of the role can be performed remotely, with occasional (1-2 times/month) need to visit the Derby office.

  • System design substantiation.

Systems engineering essentials, including:

  • Systems engineering tools and techniques (e.g. functional modelling, Function Means Analysis (FMA), decision analysis), concept generation, assessment and selection.
  • Requirements development (including development of structured Requirements, Evidence, Definition and Verification (REDV) data and information) and management.

Nuclear industry domain knowledge including:

  • Pressurised Water Reactor (PWR) design, plant and behaviour,
  • Environmental, Safety, Security and Safeguarding (E3S) regulations and principals (including application of As Low As Reasonably Practicable (ALARP) and Best Available Technique (BAT) principals).

Nuclear reactor systems design and operational knowledge including Relevant Good Practice (RGP) in:

  • Nuclear steam raising systems including duty, safety and containment systems.
