Mechanical Maintenance Technician
Toro Recruitment is currently partnered with an award-winning organisation seeking a Mechanical Maintenance Technician to join the Maintenance Team of their Anaerobic Digestion facility in Mitcham.
As a Mechanical Maintenance Technician, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the safe and efficient operation of our Food Waste Recycling Plant, including the anaerobic treatment facility. The ideal candidate will be dynamic, eager to learn, and adept at identifying and resolving potential issues.
Responsibilities of a Mechanical Maintenance Technician:
- Perform planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive repair works on mechanical equipment.
- Collaborate with a multi-disciplinary maintenance team to ensure high-quality work and plant efficiency.
- Work on heavy industrial equipment, including valves, pumps, gearboxes, rotating machinery, and pulverizers.
- Conducting PPM to maintain operational continuity of the facility.
- Addressing reactive repair needs promptly.
- Striving to optimise plant performance, utilization, and availability.
- Applying a strong health and safety ethic throughout all maintenance activities.
Qualifications and Experience: The successful candidate should ideally possess:
- Completion of a recognised engineering, maintenance engineering, or general engineering apprenticeship.
- An appropriate engineering qualification (City and Guilds, NVQ, ONC, HNC, or HND).
- Some mechanical engineering knowledge or experience.
- A strong understanding of health and safety principles.
- Experience in reactive maintenance within a process, production, or automated engineering environment.
- Familiarity with preventative maintenance systems.
Training Provided: Comprehensive training, including:
- Complex Mechanical Training
- Working at Heights
- IOSH (Institution of Occupational Safety and Health)
Position Details:
- Full-Time Permanent Position
- Salary: £15 per hour
