Our client, a leader in electric vehicle battery research has an exciting opportunity for a Functional Safety Engineer. The successful candidate will support activities throughout the product development lifecycle.
 
The Functional Safety Engineer will:
  • Ensure consistency between SW/HW Safety Requirements, Hardware-Software-Interface (HSI), SW/HW Architecture and Technical Safety Concept or System Architectural Design Specification.
  • Apply safety analyses methods (e.g. FMEA, FTA, DFA) with broad exposure to different processes, methodologies, and stakeholder objectives.
  • Support in delivery of ISO26262 process to vehicle manufacturers and tier 1 suppliers covering all aspects of the safety lifecycle.
  • Contribute to formal gap analyses between SEooC BMS and Customers’ safety requirements).
  • Support GEN5m BMS product ISO26262 accreditation.
 
The Functional Safety Engineer will have:
  • Degree or equivalent in a relevant Engineering or Science related discipline.
  • Automotive experience, including HV applications and ISO26262.
  • Awareness of ISO26262 / ISO9001 / ISO14001, internal IMS and Quality & Environmental / Health & Safety / Legal & Regulatory policies and processes.
  • Working knowledge of automotive e-powertrain systems (e,g, batteries/energy storage; BMS) and understanding their interfaces and integration into the vehicle.
  • Practical experience of using safety development tools (e.g. Ansys Medini, Isograph Reliability Workbench tool)
