Job Description

The ideal candidate will be responsible for the draughting team with the UK office and be the point of contact for all product definition queries. The candidate would be produce the most challenging drawings e.g. blades, blisks, ring-strut-rings and act as a checker for the drawings produced by the draughting team.

Responsibilities

  • Create and revise detailed engineering drawings for turbomachinery components for the most complex gas turbine components and perform a checking role for the UK office
  • Collaborate closely with design engineers, project managers, and other stakeholders to understand project requirements and specifications.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant aerospace regulations, standards, and quality control procedures and implement these standards to all drawings.
  • Provide technical expertise and guidance to more junior draughts people within the team.
  • Stay abreast of emerging technologies and industry trends to enhance design processes and methodologies

Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree, HND or equivalent experience in Aeronautical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or a relevant technical degree.
  • 20+ years of applicable work experience, some of which is in the gas turbine industry.
  • Proven experience in modelling & draughting the complex gas turbine components (blades, blisks, ring-strut-rings).
  • Very strong CAD experience required, NX proficiency advantageous.
  • Ability to perform detailed GD&T stack-up calculations independently.
  • Ability to be deployed in a lighter design role where required is desirable.
  • Strong organisational and communication skills.
  • Ability to make technical presentations internally and to customers.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Must be able to work with customers to define and document requirements, address technical concerns and provide project status.

Work Environment

The work environment will include a combination of office and lab/workshop.

Travel will be required from time to time throughout the UK and Europe.

Employee will be required to perform other duties as requested, directed or assigned.
