The Fun Stuff: Supplier Qualty Engineer

• You will be involved in resolving quality issues and projects relating to Supplier Quality and be an important point of contact for suppliers and internal customers on commodity quality issues
• Monitor, control and continuously improve supplier quality to ensure are a consistently high standard.
• Conduct supplier audits to ISO9001 /  TS16949, coordinate and run 8D resolutions and use statistical analysis tools to verify suppliers’ processes are to an acceptable standard.
• Preparation and validation of customer PPAPs, owning and running these projects
• You’ll work alongside internal teams, taking part in supplier development projects, advising best practice and facilitating change and improvement

Skills required– Supplier Quality Engineer

• Proven industry knowledge as a supplier quality engineer or quality technician with a strong desire for product and supplier quality
• Ideally a Lead Auditor to ISO 9001:2015; TS16949 would be an advantage but any sort of auditing experience will be considered
• Excellent experience of PPAP, 8D, AIAG core tools & CQI process manuals
• Industry experience in engine manufacturing or similar – Turbines, E-motors, Transmissions etc across either automotive, rail, aerospace or marine
• Knowledge of high-volume casting or machined components would be ideal
• A team player with good interpersonal skills and ability to communicate confidently and persuasively with a wide variety of people and cultures, up to senior management level.
• Comfortable and able to travel to global supplier sites – Europe, India, USA, Mexico. Could be up to 18 times a year.

The company is conveniently located in Foston, Derbyshire but is commutable from Derby, Uttoxeter, Stafford, Burton-on-Trent, Ashbourne, Stoke-on-Trent, Nottingham, Lichfield etc
