Our client offers professional surveying services, experts in 3D topographical, GPR, Utility mapping, Cable detection, Utility locationg and CCTV Drainage surveys. They are a trusted survey provider for architects, builders, contractors, planners and numerous other divisions & secotrs across the UK and Europe.

Due to continued success they're looking to expand their utility surveying team. The ideal applicant would have minimum 2 years' minimum experience of producing detailed underground utility surveys and must be able to demonstrate experience in the use of EML and GPR technology to produce a detailed utility mapping survey.

Role Description

  • Carry out site surveys as required by the work instruction
  • Undertake thorough, investigative utility surveys and conduct paperwork in accordance with company procedures
  • Liaising with other site surveyors, contractors, suppliers, clients
  • Create Utility Survey Reports
  • Carry out appropriate quality control checks before drawings issued to customer
  • Mentor and train less experienced surveyors
  • Gathering data to produce mapping information of underground and overground supply services.
  • Complete core on site detecting and mapping activities required for underground utility surveys including Ground Penetrating Radar (high and low frequency), GPR in Mark-out Mode, EML methods, drainage surveys.
  • Leading and coordinating field teams on site
  • Overseeing technical aspects of projects to ensure quality delivery
  • Ability to undertake PAS128 surveys

Skills & Attributes

  • Previous experience working as a Utility Surveyor, (Supervisory experience desriable, not essential)
  • Advanced skills in the use of Electromagnetic and Ground Penetrating Radar equipment.
  • Good knowledge and understanding of utility provider drawings
  • Excellent knowledge and experience of underground utility mapping and GPR
  • Knowledge of Topographical Surveying equipment beneficial but not essential
  • Experience working across a wide variety of environments and on complex surveys
  • Ability to work away from home occasionally
  • Previous experience in post-processing GPR data is desirable
  • NVQ Level 3 or 5 qualification is beneficial but not essential.
  • CSCS qualification is beneficial but not essential
