An exceptional and unique opportunity has become available with one of the UK’s leading AJ100 Architectural practices for a Senior Heritage Consultant to join them in their offices in Yorkshire. This opportunity presents an exciting chance to shape the future of heritage consultancy in the region, contributing to the preservation and enhancement of historic built environments and staying at the forefront of industry technologies to ensure the preservation of historic buildings. This opportunity is ideal for an Architectural Heritage specialist with a significant background in Conservation and Heritage Architecture.

£45,000 - £55,000 p/annum

Duties:

  • Lead the heritage consultancy team, overseeing architectural, landscape, and master-planning projects.
  • Provide expert advice, advocacy, and guidance on heritage matters, ensuring high-quality project deliverables.
  • Drive business development efforts, including bid preparation, networking, and leveraging regional contacts.
  • Collaborate with regional leadership teams in the office and satellite offices, to execute business development plans, manage resources, and ensure financial profitability and quality assurance.
  • Conduct archival and desk-based research, analyze on-site built fabric, and produce comprehensive reports.
  • Manage multiple projects simultaneously, planning and allocating resources effectively to meet project deadlines.
 

Requirements:

  • Strong experience in building conservation, buildings archaeology, heritage planning, or related fields.
  • Ideally background as an Architect in the heritage sector
  • Proficiency in archival research, on-site built fabric analysis, and report writing.
  • Proven track record in providing advice as a heritage lead and managing multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Experience in preparing fee proposals and bids, along with a strong understanding of UK heritage legislation, policy, and guidance.
  • Knowledge of the markets in the north of England and Scotland, previous line management experience, and membership(s) of professional institutions such as IHBC or CIFA are highly desirable.
