One week Mon-Thurs 6am-2:30pm, Fri 6am-11am
One week Mon-Thurs 2:15pm-10:45pm, Fri 2:15pm-5:45pm

Contek are working with a client in Nuneaton who provide various services including rapid prototyping solutions, low volume production and tooling to many sectors including Marine and Defence. I am looking for a CNC Miller to join their small machining team on a permanent basis. They manufacture various tooling/fixture solutions for various industries including Marine, Defence and Automotive markets.

The programming at the machine (Heidenhain/Mazak) is quite basic and calling in of sub-programs - but the most important aspect is the set-up and 'how to' engineering of some of their materials including GRP, carbon fibre, epoxy and tooling board. I am looking for a machinist who can look at a certain part and think 'How can I machine this even with the most unconventional methods'.

Experience required:

• CNC Milling ideally on 3 or 3+2 axis machinery. (Mazak, Quasar, XYZ Siemens and Parpus Gantry mills)
• Setting and operating on CNC Mills with G-codes/Heidenhain controls.
• Working in a versatile environment producting one-off, small batch, prototype and bespoke parts.
• Creation and set-up of jigs and fixtures.
• Manufacturing knowledge of various materials including GRP, Epoxy, Tooling board, Aluminium, Chromalloy and Steels.
• Programming online at the machine - calling in of sub-programs.
• Having the engineering knowledge on 'how to' set-up and machine of materials including un-conventional methods of packing out parts etc.
• Working with a very high attention to detail due to working in a high integrity market.
• Reading of engineering drawings and knowledge of geometric tolerances.
• Self-inspection of own work.
• Working within a close knit team.
• Ideally having experience within a tooling manufacture background e.g
• Patternmaking, Press/Injection tools or Composites/Foundry.
