Quantity Surveyor - Wakefield (Hybrid)
£40,000 - £55,000 + Car Allowance

As a Quantity Surveyor for our client, it is required to control the commerical functions within their business. You will support the business and take responsibiltiy for the end-to-end commerical process for intially one large major project; further enhance the businesses commerical strength and margins by imporving reporting accuracy, cash flow, reudcing risk in change control and WIP.

The Successful Quantity surveyor will hold the following responsibilities:

- Commerical reporting including forecasting and wider project performance
- Work alognside operational team to produce accurate End Life Forecasts
- Manage client interface
- Risk management including change control and WIP management
- Contract Administration
- Provision of contractual advice to the project delivery team
- Aid in subcontract procurement and placement, ensuring best value for money and lowest risk achieved at all times
- Payment & Debt Management
- Post porject appraisals and feedback loop to T & E Team
- Attend internal and external (Client) meetings
- Final account compilation / submission

Quantity Survey Key Competencies:

- Contractual knowledge - NEC3 ECC knowledge is essential
- Civil Engineering / Utility work experience
- Teamwork & customer services skills
- Verbal & written communication skills
- Negotiation skills
- Excellent IT skills - Heavy focus on Excel

Quantity Surveyor Qualifications & Experience:

- HNC or above in Quantity Surveying OR equivalent is essential.
- Experience in the construction industry is essential
- Experience with scheme finance and commerical management is essential
- Abiltiy to understand and respond to contract issues.
- MRICS or MCIOB is desirable
- Experience in the Utility construction industry with a complete udnerstanding of gas, water and electric distribution infrastructures is desirable

In return our client will offer:

£45,000 - £55,000 Per annum + Car Allowance
25 Days holiday + Bank holidays
3 days in the office / 2 days WFH
