Quality Engineer

Up to £45,000 basic DOE

Tonbridge, Southeastern area

Are you an experienced Rail Quality Engineer looking for your next career step into a well-established and fast-growing Rail Contractor?

Due to project wins and work pipelines, they are looking to appoint an additional Quality Engineer in their Major Projects team.

You will be a self-motivated with a proactive approach and have experienced working with tight deadlines.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop strong culture of Right First Time through delivering communications, briefs, and site visits.
  • Revise and creating ITP’s, updating trackers, and maintaining this.
  • Working on the production of Quality Manag4ement Plans.
  • Supporting the assurance and compliance manager, implementing Quality Management Plans and AMP processes.
  • Monitor “planned versus actual” in relation to audits, inspections, and checks.
  • Work with the team to enhance performance, drive improvements, and reduce cost of below standard quality.
  • Review and update risk assessments.
  • Lead and undertake inspections and audits, reporting and implementing lessons learned.
  • Undertake root cause analysis and develop permanent corrective actions.
  • Update IMS (Integrated Management Systems) with incidents, solutions, and improvements.

Requirements

  • Experience in a Quality Engineering role ideally in the rail/construction industry.
  • Qualified Internal auditor.
  • Hold a BTEC/HNC or higher in Engineering.
  • Previous employment experience with an Integrated Management System (IMS).
  • Good understanding of Engineering documentation.
  • Experience of root cause analysis techniques such as 8D, Ishikawa, 5Whys.
  • Proficient in MS office applications (Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook)
  • Strong data analysis skills.
