Job Title: Non-Destructive Testing (NDT) Technician 

Location: Isle of Grain

Rate: £315.10 per day inc holiday pay PAYE - £50.00 per day lodge allowance

Job Description:

Position Overview: As an NDT Technician, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the quality and safety of our industrial construction projects. Your primary responsibility will be to conduct non-destructive testing to identify material defects, assess weld quality, and ensure that all project components meet the required standards and specifications. This role is essential for maintaining the integrity of our structures and ensuring they perform as intended.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Conduct NDT Testing: Utilize various NDT methods, including but not limited to ultrasonic testing (UT), radiographic testing (RT), magnetic particle testing (MT), and liquid penetrant testing (PT), to inspect welds, materials, and components.
  2. Interpret and Analyze Results: Evaluate test results and provide detailed reports on findings. Identify defects, anomalies, and areas of concern, and make recommendations for corrective actions as necessary.
  3. Ensure Compliance: Verify that all NDT processes adhere to industry standards, project specifications, and safety regulations. Maintain records and documentation of all testing activities.
  4. Collaboration: Work closely with project engineers, welding teams, and other stakeholders to ensure NDT is carried out at the appropriate stages of construction. Communicate findings and provide technical guidance as needed.
  5. Equipment Maintenance: Ensure NDT equipment is properly calibrated, maintained, and in good working condition. Report any equipment issues and coordinate maintenance or repairs as necessary.
  6. Safety: Prioritize safety in all aspects of the job. Follow safety protocols and contribute to a safe work environment for yourself and others.
  7. Professional Development: Stay current with industry trends and advancements in NDT techniques. Seek opportunities for professional development and certification.

Qualifications:

  • Relevant NDT certification - PCN in DPI - Dye penetrants, Fluorescent Penetrants, NDT Instruction writing
  • Experience with various NDT methods (UT, RT, MT, PT, etc.).
  • Strong understanding of industry codes and standards.
  • Excellent attention to detail and analytical skills.
  • Strong communication and report-writing skills.
  • Ability to work in a dynamic and team-oriented environment.
  • Commitment to safety and adherence to safety protocols.
