This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced Engineering Manager to be play a leading role for a brand that is the leader within their sector and still growing!

The role will lead on all aspects of the engineering department and ensuring the efficient operation of all equipment and machinery on site whilst managing costs in line with agreed budgets.

Key Behaviours and skills:
 
· Experience of managing and developing a team of Engineers in a manufacturing in a  team which has delivered high quality products, safely and in the agreed volume to maintain customer service standards
· Demonstrate they can operate and engage at all levels, from the shop floor to the Leadership Team, and ensure their role is integral to successful business performance including the planning, installation, and management of Capital projects
· Show experience of managing and reporting against machine availability and efficiency targets, PPM’s, Parts / Stores management
· Demonstrate experience of training and developing a team in previous roles and businesses
· Can demonstrate they operate a values led business focussed on people and service to customers
· Can demonstrate the ability and focus to lead a team in a safe way and an ability to convert this into clear plans that are understood by all teams
· Works closely and in an aligned fashion with Operations, Technical, QA, Packing and Warehouse departments to ensure the objectives of the business are achieved

Key Responsibilities:
 
· PEOPLE – responsible for the Engineering Strategy and Team ensuring the operational plan is delivered, coaching, and developing their team and ensuring all team members have the required skill set to perform to the company standards. Monitors, measures, and manages the performance and availability of equipment to deliver the required product quality and yield standards.
 
· OPERATIONS – Works with Operations, H and QA teams to ensure the highest quality maintenance and hygiene standards are maintained. Develop and deliver against an agreed maintenance and repair programme ensuring yield and efficiency levels allow the business to achieve both output and cost budgets. Ensuring all maintenance and repair work is reported appropriately and all safety documentation is completed in a timely manner.
 
· HEALTH & SAFETY – accountable for ensuring a safe working environment for all employees in the engineering operation and supporting this for the wider site. Ensuring the engineering team meets the standards set out in the health and safety policy.  Creates a H&S focused culture across all the teams.
 
· CONTINOUS IMPROVEMENT – create a live Operational Improvement Plan, with continued review of processes and operational procedures, identifying opportunities for efficiency and quality improvements to improve margin and reduce costs to the business. Ensuring this is converted into clear plans that are understood and owned by the relevant teams.
 
· CUSTOMER – ensure a focus on service is paramount, developing close working relationships with Technical and Innovation to maintain existing quality as well as progressing R&D projects with our customers.
 
· OUR ENVIRONMENT – Recognise the importance of our environmental standards and uphold these during all shift activities – also identifying ways the business can improve and be as sustainable as possible.
