FIELD SERVICE ENGINEER - Circa £35K plus company Van - (Regions - Midlands & North)

My client is a leading manufacturer of  Compactors and Balers in the UK and as part of their expansion, they are looking for two experienced engineer to cover the Midlands (Coventry, Leicester, Nottingham, Derby) or North ( Barnsley, Chesterfield, Doncaster, Worksop)

The successful Field Service Engineer will be responsible for Maintaining and repairing recycling machinery across various sites.

As Field Service Engineer you will also be involved in the installation of new equipment and performing planned preventative maintenance work. 

The primary focus will be on waste compaction and baling machinery, with the opportunity to work with other recycling equipment as part of the service and maintenance round.

Please note that part of the role involves servicing and maintaining waste compaction equipment, which may include cleaning and clearing waste debris.

Requirements:

• Strong technical skills, with the ability to handle complex tasks
• Full understanding and appreciation of Health & Safety regulations in the workplace
• Basic IT skills, including the ability to use smartphones, tablets, and navigate apps
• Excellent interpersonal skills, with experience in customer-facing roles
• Competency in working safely with three-phase electrical systems, hydraulic systems, and mechanics
• Experience with working with steel and the ability to perform minor repairs on-site using portable welders (or the willingness to learn)
• Valid UK driving license with driving experience, comfortable with long journeys when necessary
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Installation skills and adherence to Health & Safety requirements
• Flexibility to stay away from home for short periods if required

While training will be provided, the following qualifications and certifications would be advantageous:

• City and Guilds certification in electrical/mechanical/technical capacity
• Knowledge of BS7671 wiring regulations, BFPA/CETOP pressurized systems, or equivalent
• Safety acknowledgements such as CCNSG, ACE, CSC cards
• Qualifications associated with operating machinery such as MEWPS (IPAF) or FLT, or PASMA/ladder safety recognitions.
