Job Overview The successful candidate will provide expert safety consultancy services to clients in the UK Defence industry, ensuring compliance with relevant regulations and legislation. They will conduct hazard identification and risk assessments for land systems and equipment in their area of expertise, develop and implement comprehensive safety management systems (SMS), and support clients in achieving safety certification and accreditation. They will collaborate with engineers, project managers, and other stakeholders to deliver successful safety outcomes and stay up-to-date on the latest land safety standards and best practices in their specialisation.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide expert safety consultancy services to clients in the UK Defence industry
- Conduct hazard identification and risk assessments for land systems and equipment in their area of expertise
- Develop and implement comprehensive safety management systems (SMS)
- Support clients in achieving safety certification and accreditation
- Collaborate with engineers, project managers, and other stakeholders to deliver successful safety outcomes
- Stay up-to-date on the latest land safety standards and best practices in their specialisation
- Experience as a Land Safety Consultant within the UK Defence sector, ideally with a focus on Vehicles, Radar, or OME
- Proven ability to identify and assess hazards in complex land systems and equipment in their area of expertise
- Strong understanding of relevant UK Defence safety regulations and standards, including Def Stan 00-55, JSP 310, and Mil Std 810
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Self-motivated and results-oriented, with a proactive approach to safety
