Mechanical Maintenance Engineer | Keighley, West Yorkshire | Full Time | Permanent | Hourly rate will reflect your experience and be £14 - £18 per hour

Our client, Byworth Boiler Hire are the UK’s leading hirer of industrial steam and hot water boilers.  The company has enjoyed steady growth for many years but this has greatly accelerated in the last 2 years and it is due to this continued expansion this vacancy has arisen.

The company hire out steam and hot water boilers the majority of which are fully installed in HGV trailers to be able to be transported to site quickly. The fleet requires regular checks, maintenance and repairs along with MOT preparation.

The work takes place in a fully equipped mechanical workshop with diagnostic equipment, brake testers, tyre fitting machines etc.

This role is based at the workshop in Keighley, West Yorkshire – working hours are 37.5hpw with 30 mins lunch and 15 minutes morning break, Monday to Friday

The role is permanent with a 3-month probationary period. Training can be provided if necessary.

Are you the right person for the job?

• MIG/MMA Welding experience to a high standard
• TIG welding experience would be beneficial but not essential
• Experience with both screwed and welded pipework
• Fabrication – up to 6mm plates including stainless steel
• Driving licence preferred but not essential
• Steam boiler experience would be beneficial but not essential

What will your role look like?

The function of this role is to provide mechanical maintenance on our fleet of steam boilers which would comprise of

• Pipework – both screwed and welded
• Fabrication and to repair to HGV trailers
• Assisting with installation of new plant
• Maintenance of machinery and workshop equipment
• Occasional site work + overnights
