Rotating Equipment Mechanical Engineer

Fully remote working position

Inside IR35 – Umbrella

FUNCTION PURPOSE:

  • Technical and coordination role aimed at ensuring all project’s mechanical packages correct delivery.
  • Make sure information to and from Suppliers flows correctly to detail engineering stakeholders across disciplines
  • Coordinate and lead project mechanical discipline engineers across all mechanical packages.
  • Key interface person between project team and Mechanical Team manager
  • FUNCTION OBJECTIVES:
  • Delivery of all project’s mechanical packages within required delivery time, HSEQ targets, and budget.
  • Drive overall efficient project execution also with reference to delivery time, HSEQ targets, and budget.
  • Understand, communicate and control: hour’s expenditure, schedule, achieved progress, packages delivery status.
  • Ensure engineering information flow to and from Supplier(s) in compliance with project execution schedule
  • Comply with, and advocate for: company values, policies, operating system and project execution model.

FUNCTION DIMENSION RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • This project role is technically responsible for all mechanical procurement packages, assigned to Mechanical PREs, in terms of compliance to project requirements, HSEQ targets, and delivery time.
  • Coordinate at project level with other project discipline leads and project quality manager to ensure the right, consistent and multidisciplinary approach to all project tasks.
  • The role is reporting in project to their project Engineering Manager and to the functionally to the Mechanical Team Manager.

FORMAL COMPETENCE, EXPERIENCE AND SKILL SET:

• Degree in relevant technical engineering disciplines - BSc as a minimum, MSc is preferred.

• Experience may make up for lack of formal education.

• Eager to coach, lead, expedite

• Optimal 10 years relevant work experience as PRE or in this role on relevant packages type and industry. Topsides or onshore, oil and gas

• Strong communication skills

• Fluent in English language. Command of at least one Scandinavian language is preferred.

• Analytic, structured, accurate; quality- and detail- focused.

• Strong technical understanding and experience with engineering and project execution methods

• Detailed understanding of supply chain methods

• Conversant with IT tools such as programming languages, spreadsheets, engineering calculation software:

• Medium level on MS Office tools is required
• Basic level on at least one programming language is preferred
• Basic level on at least one of these tools is preferred: PV Elite, SmartPlant, AVEVA 2D E&I, HTRI.
