Senior EC&I Design Engineer | Manchester | 37.5 Hours per week | £55,000 to £65,000 dependant on experience

Our client provides an extensive range of services and products, including control panel and MCC manufacture, electrical and mechanical system design, certified hazardous area designs, PLC and SCADA programming, certified electrical and mechanical installations, full commissioning services and project management.

In this role, you will support a dynamic, growing business, within the engineering industry, you will be working within the engineering team providing a professional and excellent service whilst supporting all departments and the company with the necessary design duties.

Minimum Qualifications/Experience

  • Minimum HNC/HND or graduate qualified
  • Understanding of control principles and circuits
  • Software Design and implementation
  • Knowledge/experience of Auto-CAD or EPLAN
  • Knowledge/experience of Amtech, cable design, cable containment and termination principles are essential
  • 5-10 years relevant industrial experience
  • Driving Licence
  • Excellent organisational and engineering skills.
  • Communication, team working and interpersonal skills.
  • Pro-active & attention to detail essential.
  • Good computer skills, Word, Excel Outlook
  • Electrical knowledge essential

Desirable Qualifications/Experience

  • Chartered professional registration

What will your role as a Senior EC&I Design Engineer look like?

Undertaking of site surveys

  • Assisting with quotations for new projects
  • Co-ordinating deliveries of detailed designs
  • Ensuring continuous improvement & QA of detailed designs
  • Production of detailed electrical, control & instrument schematics drawings
  • Production of design dossiers (Site layout drawings, cable routing designs, cable installations, drawings, cable schedules, instrument loops, instrument specification, instrument hook ups, test documentation, etc)
  • Project management from initial order receipt to client handover
  • On-site testing/commissioning/supporting installation team
  • Specification of electrical equipment
  • Working in line with the company ISO9001 and QA documentation
  • PLC Software Design, coding, testing, implementation & commissioning
  • HMI Screen and software creation
