Electrical Buyer

An M&E and Fit Out specialist that works on commercial, healthcare, education and residential projects across London is looking for an electrical buyer in their head office in Epsom.

The Role: Electrical Buyer

Your day to day will include purchasing goods, materials, components or services in line with specified cost, quality and delivery targets while supporting the purchasing function and other relevant departments and communicate any supply problems which may impact on business operations.

You will also be acting as an interface between suppliers and other relevant departments on purchasing processes and new projects and activities.

Having your finger on the pulse of the M&E market will be key as any changes to the market rates and flow of materials will need to have trend analysis and the company made aware of potential risks.

You will have the power to negotiate contracts, improve prices and terms of business with suppliers and review opportunities to make business savings utilising negotiation and procurement best practice tools and methods.

What the Role needs from you.

You’ll need to be able to build and maintain effective and productive relationships with staff, stakeholders and suppliers. Having good communication, negotiation, interpersonal and influencing skills will be key for this.

You will be analytical, numerically astute with strong demonstrated problem-solving abilities as the market is always in constant flux so spotting when to take advantage of the market or to hold back will be key. This commercial and financial awareness with a full understanding of how failure impacts the production, and customer order fulfilment is critical to the role.

Qualifications and Experience:

• Previous experience of working in a purchasing team preferably within an electrical environment.

• Good knowledge of purchasing, negotiation, commercial understanding and cost breakdown.

• Experience of working closely with suppliers.

• Computer literate, with advanced Excel skills/abilities

Remuneration

For the right candidate a salary of £35,000 - £50,000 is on offer
